Open since 1st September 2005, the £70 million Ropewalk shopping centre has taken shape fast.  The new centre has changed the shopping landscape in Nuneaton forever, bringing great new retailers to the town and providing a modern, stylish retail environment all under one roof.
Construction work progressed at a phenomenal rate and Nuneaton residents and visitors can now experience the full size and scope of the impressive town centre development.
The creation of a modern, state of the art shopping centre involves the use of huge quantities of high quality materials. In the case of Ropewalk this has included 1,700 tonnes of structural steelwork, 460 tonnes of reinforcement steel, 390,000 bricks, 85,000 concrete blocks, 10,560 tonnes of concrete, 1,200m2 of Terracotta cladding and 2700m2 ceramic floor tiles.
Martyn Richardson of developer Richardson Cordwell said: ”The high quality specification of materials and the finish we have achieved with them is designed to meet the high standards expected by top retailers and the shoppers they serve. We certainly believe that we have given the centre of Nuneaton a shopping complex that everyone can be proud of.”
In total Ropewalk provides 205,000 sq ft of retail space, which is equivalent to almost 5 football pitches of top quality shopping.  Located in Nuneaton Town Centre, Ropewalk is easy to reach on foot, by car or public transport.  The Shopping Centre also has its own multi-storey car park boasting 525 spaces and is also easy to reach from other town centre car parks.
